Finding pattern
I looked at this photo by Paul Strand to study the shapes created by the shadows.
Focus: The entire photo is in focus which makes it clear and sharp.
light: The lighting is dark and the majority of the photo is a shadow however there are strong shapes of light. lines: There are lots of lines of light and a triangle . repetition: The lines of light repeat themselves. the texture is a cold concrete like finish however in the light it looks like smooth marble. |

Kelder Helmer Peterson
MY RESPONSE TOP KELDER HELMER PETERSON
|
The technique that Peterson uses is one of my personal favourites
he uses high contrast to create really clear silhouettes. most of the picture he takes are manmade metallic structure usually involved with industry for example cranes, fire escapes and pylons. I will attempt to edit my pictures in such a way. |
Pattern, Shape, Repetition - Photoshoot 3
I was inspired by keld helmer Petersen.

Finding connections to develop my ideas
By selecting these photographs I am starting to see the links between them and will use this as my inspiration to develop a final piece. there are strong diagonals
I choose this image because of the strong shapes and sharp edges and many repeating lines.
|
I choose this image because of the blurred lights and vibrant colours that would have a heavy contrast to the grey edges.
|
when I layered the images over one another I also reduce the opacity of the lights to make it so that you can see the stadium.
|
Next I wanted to combine the light photo with another image.
I choose the tower because its an iconic Southampton building.
|
I choose this Estonian street because it draws the views eye into the middle of the image. I tried to contrast the clean and bright colours to create contrast between the street and gloomy tower.
|
I placed the tower at the focal point, and I upped the brightness on the tower so that it fits in better. I also flipped the tower to have it facing the light and doctored the sky.
